Having a hard time staying away from Starbucks so you can stick to your health goals? Well, hold on to your coffee cups! Here’s a game-changing fix to enjoy those iconic Starbucks flavors while keeping carbs and sugars in check.

Nope, no barista certificates needed. Crafting your favorite Starbucks drinks right in your kitchen is no longer a feat.

How, you ask?

Make Starbucks drinks at home with unsweetened milk alternatives and sweeten with Stevia or Monk fruit for a zero-carb, zero-sugar drink: Enjoy your favorite drinks guilt-free, without compromising your health goals.

Three-Ingredient
Coffee Recipe

Ingredients:

We all love the allure of Starbucks and similar coffee spots, but one secret they have is sweetened milk. Whether it’s whole milk, almond milk, soy milk, or oat milk, most Tall cups come with a hefty 12 grams of sugar.

According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), women should consume no more than 25 grams of sugar per day and men should limit their sugar intake to 36 grams per day.

Caffeine and sugar are both addictive substances. While our homemade version won’t taste exactly like Starbucks, give it 2-3 days, and you’ll adjust to the flavor.

Morning warmth and caffeine fix are essential. But you can also opt for a decaf version with zero sugar and zero carbs.

Directions:

1.  Steep your coffee teabag in 1/3 cup of hot water, letting it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Remove the teabag and save it in a ziplock bag or sealed container for a second use.

2.  Add the Stevia packet (or 1 tsp if using a jar) to the brewed coffee. Stir the mixture until you’ve crafted your own espresso. You can skip this step if you prefer your coffee unsweetened.

3.  Pour the unsweetened almond milk (or your chosen unsweetened milk) into a separate cup and microwave it for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Unsweetened versions typically contain just 1g of carbs and zero sugar.

4.  To recreate that coffee shop frothy texture, grab a jar and pour in the heated milk. Shake vigorously until froth forms. Note that unsweetened milk won’t froth as much as sweetened milk due to its lower fat content.

5. Pour the frothy milk into your cup with the espresso. The froth will settle at the bottom of the jar. You can scoop it out with a spoon and add it on top of your coffee. Alternatively, use a frother if you have one.
